One of OCAC’s goals is to help beautify public spaces and places through the initiative: “It’s Our Town, Let’s Make It Beautiful and Pollinator Friendly”.

Our first gardening project has been accomplished. The garden bed in front of Olive’s Justice Court & Meeting Hall has mostly been planted. The gardening committee, Maraleen Manos-Jones and Debbie Scheringer, completed this just before the first frost.

OCAC had applied for a grant for 1500 bulbs for our town. We did not receive the grant this time.

We hope to transform Shokan Center with an innovative, cost effective, low maintenance organic garden technique called Turnkey Gardening. Learn more about this while you help accomplish it on our First Annual Olive Planting Day. Date and Time to be announced.

Please consider joining OCAC’s gardening committee.
