Local Flood Analysis Meeting April 14th
Engineer George Fowler of Woidt Engineering will be in attendance at the kickoff meeting for the Local Flood Analysis (LFA) overview on April 14th. An essential component to the LFA process on the Esopus and Bushkill streams is the involvement of community members. Two meetings will be held on the 14th. The first being at 6:00 pm with members of the Olive Flood Advisory Committee who have worked for the past year to get us to the point of conducting the streams’ study. The second meeting on the 14th will be immediately following the Flood Advisory Committee and will start at approximately 7:00 – 7:30 pm with the Town Board at its regular monthly meeting. Both meetings are open to the public and we encourage all to attend as your involvement is crucial.
The objective of the kickoff meetings on April 14th is to facilitate an understanding of the Local Flood Analysis (LFA) approach and expected outcome to the three major stakeholders in the process—the Town Board, Flood Advisory Committee, and the public (both residents and businesses). By having a strong contribution from you we can ensure community flood resiliency goals can be met while incorporating sustainability and financial viability into all flood mitigation solutions.
Please put this date on your calendar–April 14th at the Town Meeting Hall—6:00 pm with the Flood Advisory Committee and 7:00 or 7:30 pm with the Town Board.
