RFP for Engineering Design for Three Road Crossings

RFP for Engineering Design for Three Road Crossings

With grant funds in 2015 the Town of Olive hired the consulting firm Woidt Engineering & Consulting, PC to conduct a Local Flood Analysis (LFA) in the hamlets of Boiceville and West Shokan.  The analysis was undertaken to identify flood mitigation solutions that are both feasible and cost-effective to reduce flood elevation.  Two locations of interest were identified by the community as flood hazard areas in Boiceville–“Upper Boiceville Road Mitigation Area” and the “DeSilva Road Mitigation Area”.  In West Shokan an area of interest also identified is the Burgher Road crossing identified in the LFA as the “Dry Brook Mitigation Area”.

The LFA was accepted by the Town Board in August of 2017 which has now made the Town eligible for additional grant funds for implementation of flood mitigation areas identified in the LFA.  With grant funds from the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program (AWSMP) the Town will hire a consulting firm to design and engineer a solution through 100% design for these three crossings.
