Park reservations are made after the 1st of the year. The form can be found here and under documents. Please call to see if a weekend date is available before submitting a form. Parks are only rented out on Saturday and Sundays.

Dog Licenses
All dogs age six months or older must be licensed in New York State. Rabies certificates are required at the time of licensing your dog. You can complete the dog license application form and submit it to the Town Clerk’s office along with the rabies certificate, spaying/neutering certificate (if applicable), and the appropriate fee. The dog will be issued an identification tag which will remain with the dog for his lifetime. The license, however, will be renewed annually. Replacement tags can be purchased through the Town Clerk’s Office at a fee of $15.00.
Handicapped Parking Permits
The applicant and the medical doctor must complete the Handicapped Parking Permit form and submit it in person or by mail to the Town Clerk. The applicant must also present their NYS Driver License or Non-Driver License at the time of applying for the permit. Permits are issued either on a temporary basis of six months or a permanent basis of 5 years depending on the doctor’s recommendation.
Home Delivered Meals Program
The Olive Home Delivered Meals Program is a volunteer program run through the Town Clerk’s Office. Eligibility to receive home delivered meals is determined by the Ulster County Office of the Aging. You can contact 845-334-5125 (Intake at the OFA) to register for the program and can receive further information at http://www.co.ulster.ny.us/aging/food.htm
Anyone wishing to volunteer to deliver the meals should contact Sylvia at 657-8118 x5 for information. Depending on the number of people on the list it may take up to an hour and a half to deliver the meals. Meals are picked up by our volunteers at approximately 10:45 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Town Meeting Hall and delivered to the list of people as provided by the Town Clerk.
Sporting Licenses
The Town Clerk’s Office issues NYS DEC licenses during normal office hours. Licenses may also be purchased directly from the DEC online at http://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/6101.html
New York City DEP Access Permits
Access permits for New York City lands and reservoirs are not issued by the Town of Olive. These permits may be obtained online at http://a826-web01.nyc.gov/recpermitapp/

The assessor is the official who estimates the market value of real property within the town. Assessments are based on an analysis of sales of properties within the town and information provided by Ulster County and NY State with the ultimate goal of maintaining a fair and equitable assessment roll. Our office is also responsible for the administration of real property exemption programs and for providing other reference materials such as property inventory cards, tax maps, etc.

The records of assessments and inventory are open to the public and may be inspected at the office during regular business hours. The Transfer Station is for Olive residents only. Residents may obtain the required permit at the Transfer Station during hours of operation. Checks or Money Order Only. Yearly permit of 12 months is $25 and a separate punch card for garbage bags can be purchased at the Transfer Station.

Recyclables such as plastic bottles with necks, tin cans and lids, sorted colored glass, magazines, newspapers, and brown corrugated cardboard do not require a tipping fee. We now accept electronics free of charge! Please dry out all paint prior to bringing it to the transfer station. Also, no brush or yard waste is accepted. Any questions? We do not accept C+D (construction and demolition) waste. Please deliver this waste to the UCRRA in Ulster:

They only accept “residential” waste on Saturdays.
All other household garbage requires a disposal fee to offset the cost of transferring the solid waste per the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency agreement. Check with your Transfer Station employee to learn of proper sorting methods.

We only pick up dogs that are running at large. We do not take in dogs that are unwanted or nuisance/barking animals.

The Town’s Dog Kennel is located on Watson Hollow Road next to Davis Park.
Please call the Supervisor’s Office at 657-8118 between the hours of 9-4 pm Monday – Friday to see if we have picked up your dog.
All dogs in the Town of Olive must be licensed. Before you come to claim your dog, you must show proof of current rabies. No exceptions will be made.
